It was just a few days before Christmas. I was finally getting around to baking cookies and realized on my last shopping trip out I hadn't picked up the typical holiday tins I usually grab each year for a cheap price at WalMart. I live in a rural area. The closest mall or other shopping areas (other than the local small town grocery store) is an hours drive away, in the cold Minnesota snowy winter. I wasn't about to drive an hour each way just to go buy a handfull of holiday containers for cookies. I turned to Amazon, looking for something I could use that was available for Prime (or for those people not using Prime, Amazon Super Saver) shipping.
These gingerbread treat boxes were available and turned out to be PERFECT! You literally open them up and they fold themselves together and area ready for filling. They hold several cookies (around 10 or so) and close up nicely. They are sturdy and I had no issues with anything falling through the bottom. I even had a few large caramel apples covered in chocolate and other sweets I had purchased from a chocolate company. I needed something to put them in individually and these worked great!
These are great boxes for treats, candy, cookies and more. I found it well worth the little extra by buying them on Amazon to have them shipped 2 day delivery right to my front door, instead of hours of drive time, winter weather, fighting the holiday shoppers and long lines. Would order these again in a heartbeat!

These boxes are 6.25 inches long by 3.5 inches wide and just under 3.5 inches high (handles not included in height dimension). They fold out easily into the box shape, and are of a fairly sturdy material to hold cake or cookies or other goodies. The design is extremely cute. I bake and distribute cakes and other sweets every year for xmas to my neighbours, disposal workers, gardeners, postal workers, etc. I am always looking for unique and affordable ways to package my goodies so that they are presented with the xmas spirit of cheer and goodwill. I saw these and had to have them for my treat give-out this year, and i am 100% delighted with them. I highly recommend.

I suppose I can start off by saying this is my fault for expecting any high quality item for the price. They were easily ripped and teared and the glue comes apart even with the slgihtest touch. It took me longer time then expected to open them carefully so they do not fall apart. I then had to reineforce the bottom with tape so the bottom does not fall apart. I was putting candy in there and it could not even hold that much (Maybe...4-5 pieces?) But it is a very cute treat box and is NOT cardboard. it is not made of cardboard at all, more like paper. So this can be misleading.Remember it's NOT MADE OF CARDBOARD.
